This book contains:
- Physical and emotional abuse of a romantic partner
- Antisemitic slurs, with and without intent to harm
- Physical abuse of a child
- Suicidal ideation
- Central character death
- State-sanctioned execution (hanging)
- One disablist slur (as a place name from Dickens, not directed at a character)
- A fair bit of swearing
- A lot of property crime
This book does not contain:
- Rape or sexual violence
- Animal death (there is a dog and a cat, and both are fine)
